Prayer for Lent

Mighty God, you raise the sun from its grave of night, and gather
your people to celebrate the dawn, for in Jesus Christ you have
destroyed death and set us free from its bondage.  We praise your
might and majesty, great God, and thank you for all good gifts of
your salvation.  Especially we thank you for
     loving families and forgiving friends . . . . .
     promises of newness in our lives . . . . .
     blessings of nourishment and shelter and safety . . . . .
the community of Christians in which we worship . . . . .
God our deliverer, you bring us from death to live and preserve us
from all evil.  Stir up in us concern for others that in serving them we
may be close to Christ, who is our servant Lord.  Especially we pray
for
those who are ravaged by disease . . .
     victims of prejudice . . .
the cynical who mock your love . . .
     the hungry and homeless . . .
all who give of themselves in serving others . . .
Eternal God,
give us such grace and generosity
that this day we may bring your love and peace and joy
to the lonely, the troubled, the grieving.
Help us by your Spirit
to recognize your presence with us throughout the day,
that we may do what is good
in the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.
Amen.

Lake Edge Prayer Chain

There are many needs and concerns among members of this community of faith, and our extended families.  We pray for and with each other, that we may be sustained and supported by the Holy Spirit.

The Lake Edge prayer chain is a very important part of our community support.  Prayer requests can be for anyone and from anyone.  If names are to be used the request must come from the person him/herself or permission granted from that person.  Otherwise, prayers can be more general.. Example 'Pray for a friend; situation, needing guidance, etc.  Please indicate if this is a one-time request or to be continued until further notice.

Prayers are strictly confidential and passed on to each person on the prayer chain by telephone, and to the e-mail  chain members.  Contacts should be made to the church office, who will forward them to the prayer chain chair.
