Elementary Sunday School

Welcome to the Lake Edge Lutheran Church Sunday School Program!
Here are some answers to questions that you may have about our program.

How old does my child need to be to join Sunday School?

Children can join the Sunday School Program at age three and continue through the 5th grade. When they reach 6th grade they join the middle school program!

When and where is Sunday School?

Children gather downstairs in Good Shepherd Hall after the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. Sunday School ends at 11:45 a.m.

Is there a cost to attend Sunday School?

At the beginning of the year, parents are asked to pay a small registration fee (less than $10) for each of their children to attend Sunday School. There are cost allowances for large families and scholarships are available.

What will my child do during Sunday School?

Lots of things!

  • Children begin by eating a snack that we provide for them and catching up with their Sunday School friends.
  • By 11:00, all children will gather for interactive story telling and music time.
  • 11:15 – 11:45 is teaching time in smaller groups.
  • In addition to traditional learning, Sunday School children have participated in supervised cooking activities, have made colorful art projects, and even learned first aid in the spirit of healing.

Sounds like fun! How do I enroll my child in Sunday School?

Simply bring your child to Sunday School. Any of the adults will be glad to help you find the teacher that your child will be with.

You can also contact the church office, and they will let us know.

Sunday School is a great way to meet new friends and families. Hope to see you soon!
